recycled cruiser deck To build a cruiser board from an old deck you need:
1)First you need to peel the grip tape off your old deck – a brief how-to can be found in this article under GRIP TAPE COSMETIC. 2)Place the naked deck upside down on the cardboard and sketch the deck's outline with the marker. 3)Carefully cut out the shape of the deck. 4)Draw the longitudinal center line on the cut out template. This will make drawing the cruiser deck shape a lot easier. 5)Place the template flush on the upper side of your old deck. Hold it in place by pushing a few skateboard bolts through the cardboard into the deck. 6)Now use THIS DOWNLOADABLE CRUISER DECK TEMPLATE to sketch the cruiser deck shape onto the old deck. (Alternatively draw one half of your preferred cruiser board shape left or right of the center line on the cardboard. Take off the cardboard and cut out the drawn cruiser board half. Fold the cardboard along the center line and sketch the cut out cruiser board shape onto the other half of the cardboard. Thus you get a perfectly symmetrical cruiser deck template.) 7)Cut this out completely. 8)Again fix the stencil to the upper side of the deck with the skateboard bolts and sketch the cruiser board shape onto the deck. 9)Take off the template and fix the old deck to a hard surface (e.g. an old table) using a bar clamp. 10)Bit by bit cut out the cruiser skateboard with the jigsaw – make sure to follow these safety instructions! 11)Afterward sand the edges of the cruiser deck with a belt sander or grip tape. 12)If desired follow this tutorial to spray a stencil graphic onto your new cruiser skateboard. 13)Eventually apply new grip tape to the cruiser skateboard and set up trucks and wheels.
